Disney Announces 'Peter Pan' As Their Latest Live-Action Film Adaption
After the success of Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent. Disney has a new formula for making movies. Taking the classic Disney tales we all adore and turning them into live action! Peter Pan is the latest to join the list.
When you think of Peter Pan? You think of the Disney character. The most popular "Peter Pan" of them all. Sony's adaption Hook wasn't as successful. Pan which came out last year fell short.
Pete's Dragon director David Lowery is on board to direct the film. Toby Hallbrooks will be writing the script. That's all we know so far! We will follow up on details as they come out.
Walt Disney Pictures is releasing The Jungle Book tomorrow and that film comes from the same breed. Classic Disney animated films turned live action= money, and Peter Pan will likely do the same. Here is the latest lineup of animated classics and spinoffs turning into live-action. I'll give the short list because it's starting to really pile up.
Peter Pan Joins a List of Animated Classics Going Live Action
Disney is planning a movie about Rose Red, the sister of Snow White. As a Disney fanatic and fanboy I have never heard of Rose Red. The only thing I know is she is from the original fairy tale that was written by Brothers Grimm. Also that she is a complete opposite of Snow. Continuing, Reese Witherspoon is going to star in Tink which is a spinoff of Peter Pan itself. Then Tim Burton will be directing a live-action Dumbo[/i]. Also don't forget about the villains! Emma Stone will play Cruella De Vil in [i]Cruella which is a spinoff of 101 Dalmatians.
The best part of this news is that I predicted it. I was in a movie theater watching Pan ironically. I then said "Disney would tell this story way better."
Well it's going to be awhile until we find out if it is better then Pan. If your a fan of Walt Disney Animation you must be losing your mind seeing all these announcements. As Cultjer's Disney Reporter, I will report new details on Peter Pan as they become available.
