Marvel Phase Four

Every Possible Prediction for Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Distinctly Different" Phase Four

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter Marvel has assembled one of the best cinematic universes in Hollywood. President Kevin Feige promises a "distinctly different" Phase Four. That could mean many things and opens the doors to new characters and new story lines. Phase Three is about to kickoff but let's do some theorizing about Phase Four.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy

This one has been confirmed for Phase Four quietly. James Gunn has hinted at it for awhile. Also the Guardians of the Galaxy should have major parts in the Infinity War, and if not that would be a true shame. There is many stories in the archives that could become a film.

The Runaways

Marvel has always wanted to adapt this story either to Netflix or the big screen. For people who don't know, The Runaways is a comic about a group of kids that discover their parents are part of a evil organization named "The Pride", which features mad scientist, dark wizards, and time travelers. Remember that "time travel" part. The kids runaway and become an unofficial superhero team.

Doctor Strange 2

If this years Doctor Strange movie does well I would expect a Phase Four sequel. Doctor Strange will be playing a big role in future films for the MCU. Unleashing the mythical side of the universe.

Black Panther 2

We finally get to see the Black Panther in action for Captain America: Civil War and his solo movie comes out in 2018. The character was fantastic in Civil War and Wakanda will be a neat place to explore.

Young Avengers

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow and evolved it would be necessary to introduce new characters. The new characters would result in introducing fan favorites like "Hawkeye" Kate Bishop and "Iron Lad" Nathaniel Richards. This would be difficult to accomplish without the rights to Skrulls and Fantastic Four. Although Disney has made deals in the past to get characters. Maybe Fox will finally let the Fantastic Four go?

Introducing Miles Morales and Ms. Marvel

This wouldn't necessarily be a movie but an introduction to the second Spider-Man and Ms.Marvel wouldn't be a bad thing for future movies. Maybe a post credit scene would work? I follow some huge Marvel fans on Twitter and they all really enjoy Miles Morales as Spider-Man and Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel. Sony is rumored to be doing an animated film around Miles Morales now that Spider-Man Peter Parker is in the MCU.

Inhumans

After being cut from Phase Three…What's next for the Inhumans franchise? Maybe the Inhumans make their big screen debuts in Phase Four? Also for the people concerned that they might not fit in or continue the success of the universe. Remember people were hesitant about Guardians of the Galaxy and now it's one of Marvel's most popular movie franchises.

Fantastic Four Reboot (Yes I Know That's Crazy)

After Fox completely screwed up Fantastic Four, the rights could go back to Disney who owns the majority of Marvel. The rights could go back by 2020 if a deal is reached between the two companies. If so, Kang the Conqueror and Reed Richards and the rest of the Fantastic Four will become available to use.

Black Widow

I earlier reported on Cultjer.com that Marvel is committed to a "Black Widow" film. Phase Four seems like the phase to do it. A daring solo adventure of Black Widow will be interesting. It depends, it could also be a prequel that sets up a future story.

Hawkeye

Jeremy Renner has always wanted a Hawkeye film or TV series. I think a Hawkeye film could do well. It would be time to do this now instead of later. Hawkeye has been a great supporting character in the MCU and Phase Four would be the perfect time for his big screen solo debut.

Captain Marvel 2

If the first movie does well I'm sure they will continue the story arc. Captain Marvel plays a pivotal part in the future of The Avengers in the comics. Also not to mention she is included in Marvel Comics Civil War II story arc as a main character.

The Incredible Hulk

Fans have been begging Marvel to make another movie about The Hulk. Mark Ruffalo has been a great Bruce Banner but what about Hulk on his own? We could possibly see a storyline start in Phase Four and play out in Phase Five. Possibilities include World War Hulk and Planet Hulk. Both are intense story lines but Marvel could pull it off. Hulk will be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok in 2017.

Spider-Man Sequel

It will be interesting to see what happens with Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming. There are so many storylines from the Spider-Man comics. The possibilities are endless. You could have the introduction of Norman Osborn, Venom, and Vulture to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The possibilities here are endless.

Thunderbolts

As a reaction to DC's Suicide Squad why wouldn't Marvel want to do a all villain movie? Well it has already been planned! James Gunn (The director of Guardians of the Galaxy) asked Kevin Feige about doing a Thunderbolts film. Feige's response was "Let's see how Guardians do…" Well Guardians did phenomenal so what are we waiting for??? Who wouldn't want to see General Ross Thunderbolt, Zemo, Venom, and other villains form the Thunderbolts in the MCU???

Secret Invasion

It may be a cool story arc for the Avengers films but Skrulls who are the main villains are currently tied up at 20th Century Fox. Disney has been able to gain rights back so it's always possible.

Illuminati Film

See now I'm just flat out dreaming. The group consisted of Mister Fantastic, Namor, Iron Man, Professor X, Black Bolt, and Doctor Strange. They would play a pivotal part in the Secret Invasion and World War Hulk films.

Bonus: Howard the Duck Film

Who wouldn't want MCU's version of Deadpool with Howard the Duck? I mean come on this could be gold. Maybe? Well Howard the Duck was introduced in a post credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy.
