Game of Thrones Season 7 Will Begin Filming this Summer.

NadiaA71 After news of filming delays, HBO finally announced that the seventh season of game of Thrones will began filming this summer. For previous seasons, Game of Thrones series would begin filming in spring. Production will be based in Northern Ireland with additional shooting locations in Spain and Iceland. Unfortunately, this filming schedule will also push the series debut to a later date

"Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing" said HBO's Head of Programing Casey Bloys. "Instead of the show's traditional spring debut, we're moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule"

And not only will the series debut at a later date but season seven will only have seven episodes instead of the usual ten. The producers have mentioned that they only have about 13 episodes left and it will be split into two seasons.

Nevertheless, HBO have yet to confirm anything about season 8. We'll keep you posted for more developments.
