HBO Picks Up David Simon, James Franco Porn Drama 'The Deuce'
The premium cable network has ordered a series pickup of period drama The Deuce, according to THR. No episode count or premiere date has been confirmed.
Following the legalisation and rise of the porn industry in Times Square from the 1970's to mid-80s, the drama stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and explores the rise and fall of that era with the eventual rise of HIV, the cocain epidemic, and the renewed real estate market.
