HBO Picks Up 'The Big Short' Director Adam McKay's Family Drama Series
HBO has given a 10 episode straight-to-series order for Succession, a drama pilot directed and executive produced by Adam McKay. It is written and executive produced by Peep Show co-creator Jesse Armstrong, and follows the Roy family, a fictional American global-media family that is rich, powerful, and dysfunctional.
The drama explores family royalty, international business, and the perils of power in the 21st century. Armstrong will serve as showrunner and executive producer. The cast includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Hiam Abbas, Rob Yang, Parker Sawyers and Peter Friedman.
