HBO Sci-Fi Drama 'Westworld' Finally Gets a Release Window

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Based on the 1973 film of the same name, it was beginning to look like we weren't going to even see Westworld come to life on HBO. Of course, we were always going to, but there's been a lot of circle-work going on as production has taken the long way around.

Series creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy were always confident, always intent on dispelling any serious concern about the show's fate, and now our patience has paid off. Production has begun wrapping, and the official Twitter account has posted that the series will premiere this fall.

No specific date has been announced, but nevertheless the news is exciting for fans who have been waiting eagerly for the series since it was announced nearly a year ago. Speculation had it not premiering until 2017, given the production woes.

The series is being described as a 10-hour movie more-so than a television series, and the cast includes the likes of Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, James Marsden, and Even Rachel Wood, among others.

Despite cause for concern given the complications on set, the creators along with producer J.J. Abrams are more eager than anybody to ensure this series sees a successful adaptation. Fall can't come quick enough.
