HBO's 'Westworld' May be Pushed to 2017, Steve McQueen's 'Codes of Conduct' Scrapped

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell HBO is certainly struggling at the moment, given that they've recently renewed Vinyl for a second season despite a seriously shaky start with low ratings and poor critical reception.

Clearly, the network is lacking in original content right now, and it looks like two new road blocks have seriously slowed them down to a crawl. According to THR, Steve McQueen's six-episode miniseries Codes of Conduct will no longer be happening.

The show was set to star Devon Turrell, Paul Dano, Helena Bonham Carter, and Rebecca Hall, and there's no indication from HBO as to why the decision has been made. The network has plenty of prospective projects, but not a lot happening.

Westworld, the highly anticipated (though that's diminishing more and more) drama from writer Jonathan Nolan is looking at another delay. HBO hoped for a 2016 release, though now 2017 is looking more likely. Rumours have it that Nolan is clashing with the network regarding the production of the series.

Nolan revealed some time ago that production had been halted in order for the writers to complete the scripts for the remaining episodes, though to that he said HBO and WBTV had been nothing but supportive.

Hopefully, HBO can bounce back in time after the loss of their drama head Michael Ellenberg last month.
