Could Jared Leto be Doctor Strange?

Jared Leto to Star in Post-WWII Thriller 'The Outsider'

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Jared Leto is a pretty irregular actor, taking few roles but those he does take prove to be purely transformative. As Suicide Squad goes through its post-production, the clock is counting down to when we'll finally get to see his Joker (which is no doubt going to be compared to Heath Ledger's.)

And the star has now signed on for post-WWII action-thriller The Outsider, which will see the actor appear a little more natural than recent roles (in which the man vanishes behind makeup and prosthetics.)

The period piece is set in Japan, and is directed by Martin Zandvliet from a script by Andrew Baldwin. The Outsider follows an imprisoned soldier who escapes with the help of his cellmate. Once free, the American has to survive the criminal underworld as he works to pay off the debt to his former cellmate.

Right off the bat, this sounds pretty fascinating and, honestly, pretty original in today's contemporary action offerings. Leto is a divisive actor due to his methods, but his award-winning role in Dallas Buyers Club won many fans, and DC fans are warming to his Joker the more we see of it.
