Jennifer Jason Leigh Named Best Supporting Actress by Capri-Hollywood Festival

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell The actress, whose role in the film has stirred some controversy since the film's release, has been named best supporting actress by the Capri-Hollywood International Film Festival.

Leigh also won the best supporting award from the National Board of Review, and has earned a Golden Globe and BFCA Critics Choice nomination.

"The experience of being in one of Quentin's films and a part of this phenomenal cast was rewarding in and of itself, but to be honoured by such an incredible institution...makes it all the more meaningful," the actress said.

Leigh plays a prisoner in the custody of a bounty hunter. Plenty of voices have been heard regarding the treatment of her character in the film, and in almost all of The Hateful Eights promotion she sports evidence of beatings on her face.

The film expands to a wide release on Thursday.
