John Wick Sequel Update: Cast, Villains and Laurance Fishburne
Actor Keanu Reeves is currently filming the sequel to John Wick. The movie was a surprise hit in 2014, and earlier this year Lionsgate announced that they are making a sequel. Reeves will reprise his role as the titular ex-assassin.
The plot is still under wraps, but the return of Ian McShane as the owner of the chic assassin's hotel and Lance Reddick as its imperturbable manager indicates that we will see more of The Continental and the highly organized assassin's underworld. John Leguizamo is also set to return, as is Bridget Moynahan.
New cast who are joining this second John Wick film includes Ruby Rose and Common, who will play the role of villain along with Peter Stormare.
It also appears that there will be a small Matrix reunion in this movie. Laurence Fishburne, who co-starred with Reeves in The Matrix trilogy, has been spotted on on the movie's set in Brooklyn, NY. According to Variety, Fishburne's rep has confirmed that the actor was shooting a cameo.
As in the first movie, the script is penned by Derek Kolstad. Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the original will return to helm this sequel.
No release date has been set as of yet for John Wick 2.
