Nicole Kidman as the not so loving mother Evelyn Stoker

Nicole Kidman is mostly in indie-mode again, after doing the big Australia and The Golden Compass in 2007-2008. Rabbit Hole (2010) might be her best performance since then, but Stoker comes close. After her character’s husband dies, Evelyn Stoker is left alone in a big house with her daughter India. As she never spent much time with her (she always went hunting with her dad) the two don't get along that well.
