Matthew McConaughey's 'Free State of Jones' Pushed Back a Month
Matthew McConaughey's Civil War epic has been pushed from May 13 to June 24.
Directed by Gary Ross, the film follows Southern farmer Newt Knight as he leads a rebellion against the confederacy. As a deserter following the horrors of the battlefield and how it affected his family, he rallies fellow abandoners in an uprising.
The film will open against Independence Day: Resurgence and Blake Lively's The Shallows.
