Maze Runner Director Gives Update on Dylan O'Brien's On-Set Injury, the Film's Shooting Schedule

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell A day later, and director Wes Ball has issued a statement that guarantees the actor is going to make a full recovery, and filming will resume as soon as he recovers from his injuries.

"“Well, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions these past few days. I’ve been overwhelmed with feelings of anger and sadness and guilt,” Ball said in a letter posted to Twitter. “But, ultimately I find myself left with a deep love and respect for Dylan. He is one tough cookie. I’m sorry for the grief this accident has caused his friends and family as well as my wonderful cast and crew. It’s scary seeing your friend get hurt, but fortunately, Dylan is going to be just fine. After a few weeks of rest and recovery he’ll be back up and running to finish our adventure together. All the best.”

What we know of the incident now is that he reportedly fell off the back of a set created to appear as the back of a train, and he landed on his face. He either fractured his cheekbone or his orbital socket in the incident.
