Mystery Monster Movie Added to Universal's 2019 Slate
Universal has updated their schedule as they look to build their monsters universe, with a third franchise film set for February 15, 2019. The film will follow Alex Kurtzman's The Mummy (June 9, 2017) and another mystery film (April 13, 2018).
No titles or featured monsters have yet been revealed, though The Invisible Man has been confirmed as in development at the studio, with reports that Johnny Depp is in talks to play the titular character. Another of the in-development titles is The Wolfman.
All three films are said to be part of Universal's “New initiative to revive and reimagine Universal’s classic monsters for a modern audience.” The universe is being overseen by Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan.
