New Details on Those 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Reshoots

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Makingstarwars.net is citing sources indicating that the widespread concern regarding the recent reports of drastic reshoots for the Star Wars spin-offs may be for nothing, and the situation isn't so dramatic as initially thought.

Sources are claiming that the internal feelings toward the reshoots are positive, and they are being conducted by director Gareth Edwards alongside writer Christopher McQuarrie, who's final script was considered the superior by the studio.

This is why the film's first cut was reportedly "uneven," because McQuarrie's script hadn't been completed until after the first run had been shot. When new drafts would come in, they would shoot them, which has landed them here, in need of reshoots. These are seemingly totaling at least 40% of the film.

32 new sets have also reportedly been recreated for the shoots and the crew is working 6 days a week for 8 weeks to get things done. J.J. Abramsn is reportedly supervising the reshoots.

There is no change to its December 16 release date.
