Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures heads to Disney XD

New Lego Star Wars Series Coming to Disney XD this Summer

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter After the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Disney XD is creating a new original series based off of a new original concept to expand the ever growing Star Wars universe.

The new Disney XD animated series will focus around "a family of scavengers who build and sell starships from the scoured debris of space battles strewn throughout the galaxy." The plot thickens when the youngest freemaker (who characters name isn't revealed) discovers an ancient lightsaber. The family is thrown into an epic confrontation with the Empire, who is trying to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy.

Familiar characters are expected to be on the show. We can speculate that Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine will have pivotal and important roles, at least according to the poster.

Vice President of licensing and entertainment at the Lego group, Jill Wilfert said "We are very excited, for the first time, to launch a TV series with Disney XD!"

The creative team for The Freemaker Adventures has worked hard to blend rich storytelling, imagination, creativity, and humor only a Star Wars and Lego production could deliver.

If you're a fan of Lego and Star Wars this is a match made in heaven for you. Even though Lego and Lucasfilm have experimented with this style in the past, this one is supposedly going to be full time and will be ongoing (unlike the Yoda Chronicles was a limited time series).

Disney XD already hosts a popular animated series named Star Wars: Rebels. But there is always room for more.
