Russo Brothers' Next Projects are 'Cherry', 'Grimjack', and 'Battle of the Planets'

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter The Avengers: Endgame directors revealed some new details about a slew of projects.

At San Diego Comic-Con, the Russo Brothers announced that they will be producing an adaptation of indie comic Grimjack and that they would be adapting the classic cartoon series Battle of the Planets.

The projects will be developed through their company AGBO. The duo will not direct Grimjack. They are open to directing the live-action version of Battle of the Planets.

Battle of the Planets was an American anime show that aired in North America in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The project touched the brothers in their youth. “I would race home from school just to watch this at 4 p.m.,” said Anthony Russo.

Battle of the Planets is about the adventures of a team of young adults known as G-Force — Mark, Jason, Princess, Keyop, and Tiny — who fought the forces of Spectra and the evil Zoltar.

Up next the Russo Brothers will direct Cherry starring Tom Holland. The film will be rated-R. It begins shooting in October and tackles the opioid crisis.
