Shailene Woodley Joining HBO Drama Alongside Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman
The Divergent star is joining HBO's min-series Big Little Lies, Nicole Kidman announced at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. THR reports that Woodley has nearly finalised the deal, and it is expected to close next week.
Based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same name, Big Little Lies is penned by David E. Kelley. HBO claimed rights to the series after a bidding war with Netflix in May.
The story follows three mothers of kindergartners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder. Woodley will play Jane, a single mother, while Witherspoon and Kidman will take on the remaining two women in the trio.
