'The Fault in Our Stars' Screenwriters Join on For 'X-Men: New Mutants'
The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone is working toward bringing New Mutants to the big screen, spinning off from the X-Men franchise, and now he's brought in former collaborators Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber to work on the script.
The duo wrote the script for The Fault in Our Stars, as well as The Spectacular Now, and their young adult credentials puts them in a good place for the upcoming film, which has that same vibe according to Simon Kinberg.
The film follows a young group of misfit mutants who are coming to terms with their abilities. The report confirms that the duo are working closely with Boone on the script. The characters Wolfsbane, Magik, Sunspot, Danielle Moonstar, Mirage, and Cannonball have all been teased to make an appearance.
New Mutants is yet to have a release date. A 2017 production is expected.
