Ezra Miller as The Flash

'The Flash' Getting a Complete Script Rewrite

by

Joby Harold has been hired by Warner Bros. to do a page-one rewrite on The Flash, Variety reports. Scheduled for release in 2018, the film has been on hold since the departure of director Rick Famuyiwa, and it looks as if things are being completely turned on their head for the narrative going forward.

Ezra Miller is getting ready to shoot Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2, which is out November 16, 2018, so there's some time there for the new script to come into focus. It does, however, put major questions over the film's release slate.

Harold's most recent credit is on King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, out this year, as well as Robin Hood. Kiersey Clemons and Billy Crudup are still lined up to play Iris West and Barry Allen's father, respectively. Miller will next be seen, meanwhile, in Justice League, out November 17.
