The Next Film in J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield Series Has Been Confirmed
There will be less secrecy this time around, and we already know that J.J. Abrams' upcoming sci-fi film, God Particle, is a continuation of the Cloverfield tale, making it a trilogy though not quite as linear as in the past.
Abrams is producing God Particle, which comes out next year. Julian Onah is directing the picture, which follows a team of astronauts that makes a gruesome discovery while on a space station orbiting earth.
What kind of relationship it has with Cloverfield is unclear, and we're unsure whether it's in the same vein as 10 Cloverfield Lane, or is a direct prequel or sequel. The upcoming film stars David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl and Chris O’Dowd.
God Particle arrives in theaters on February 24, 2017.
