'The People v. O.J. Simpson' and 'Mr. Robot' Top Earners for TCA Awards Nominations

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell The Television Critics Association has announced its nominations for the 32nd annual TCA Awards, which recognises outstanding television programming for the 2015-16 season.

Four nominations each have been earned by USA Network's Mr. Robot and FX's The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, though unsurprisingly HBO has earned the highest number of nominees.

From Game of Thrones to Silicon Valley, the premium cable network as earned 12 nominations across the categories. Contending for program of the year are The Americans, Fargo, The People v. O.J. Simpson, Mr. Robot, Netflix's Making a Murderer, Lifetime's UnReal, and of course Game of Thrones.

“TCA members have recognized a record number of first-time nominees for this year’s awards. In our 32-year history this is one of the most diverse slates of genres and programs we’ve ever had,” said TCA President Amber Dowling. “It’s been a banner year for fresh, noteworthy content and we’re looking forward to seeing which shows and actors grab top prizes following the difficult votes ahead.”

Those first timers include Mr. Robot, CW comedy-musical Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, UnReal, WGN America's period piece Underground, among others.
