Universal's 'The Wolf Man' Monsters Universe Pic Gets its Writer

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell With The Mummy out next year, Universal's monster's universe kicks off in earnest. And there's plenty of confidence behind closed doors, because the studio continues to expand beyond to a number of other projects, continually adding and expanding.

The latest news has their Wolf Man remake gaining a writer in David Callaham, who is most known for The Expendables 1 and 2, as well as Doom. This may not indicate the tone and feel they're going for, given those are generally action-heavy and rather silly flicks. That being said, it's an interesting choice nontheless.

Callaham is credited on 2014's Godzilla and Zombieland 2, so he has some range to show off there. He is the second writer to come on to The Wolf Man, following Prisoners writer Aaron Guzikowski. A common theme developing in this monster's universe is the flow of writers moving in and out of projects.

The Wolf Man is slated for April 13, 2018.
