'Fast and Furious Live' Tour Dates Announced
Still no word if Corona will be a sponsor for Fast & Furious Live
The six-billion dollar franchise will kick off its live-action NOS fueled experience at London's O2 Arena on January 19, 2018 in what will be the first stop in Europe's global arena tour.
According to Vince Klaseus, head cheese at Universal Brand Development, “’Fast & Furious Live’ will allow audiences worldwide to experience the extreme action sequences from the franchise through an authentic live experience. With this live show, we are redefining fan access and bringing audiences closer than ever to their favorite movie moments."
Extreme action sequences?
Yes, apparently Universal and Live Nation Entertainment assembled the "ultimate elite team" along with the world's leading parkour athletes who will bring some of the franchise's most memorable stunts to life through a combination of "vehicular acrobatics pulled off by precision performance drivers, blockbuster set design, and digital projections." And no, that last sentence was not written by head cheese Vince Klaseus.
While the concept still sounds like a cash grab, it's worth noting franchise star Vin Diesel aka "Dominic Toretto" announced his involvement with the Live show in a video message to Facebook fans, confirming he is filming something "state of the start" sporting Dominic Toretto's signature cutoff at an undisclosed studio in New York City. What could it be? Intro? Story narration? Possibly a set up for Fast and Furious 9!?
So there's that.
