Avengers 3 may be split into two parts and Age of Ultron trailer may debut alongside Interstellar

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong With this years annual dose of superhero movies been and gone, attention is now beginning to focus on 2015's superhero slate with most attention being on Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron and two interesting pieces of news has surfaced regarding the franchise.

Avengers 3 to be split into 2 movies?

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be promoted intensely during the lead up to its release. It is expected to be one of Marvel's most successful releases to date, so expect to be bombarded with endless tidbits of merchandise, TV spots, trailers, posters, featurettes leading into its May 1st 2015 release.

There is already talk about the third Avengers regarding its overall structure and release plan. Expected to surface in 2018, Avengers 3 may well be released as a two part saga— a structure that has proved very successful for the likes of Harry Potter and Twilight with The Hunger Games currently following suit . The obvious upside to this is plan is a much increased revenue stream, something studios execs always want to see.

On the surface it sounds great, but there are a couple of issues with this two-part idea. First, Age of Ultron isn’t even done yet, and plans for any further Marvel movies beyond 2016 will be in very early stages. Secondly, contracts for the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans could complicate things. Downey has a contract that runs through to the third Avengers film and Evans’ contract will be running out around that time, too. It's as simple as this, splitting Avengers 3 into two confirmed movies wouldn’t be an option for Marvel without first renegotiating those two contracts, adding an extra movie into their respective deals.

avengers: age of ultron trailer to play alongside interstellar?

There is an interesting report from Russian movie site, FilmPro, regarding the release of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer.

With Age of Ultron a matter of eight months away from release, fans are expecting some sort of teaser trailer to drop before the end of the year, and now thanks to FilmPro, we may have our answer.

Christopher Nolan's much anticipated Interstellar hits theatres on 7th November and according to Warner Bros. Russia, there was a recent announcement pairing the film and trailer together during a showcase of upcoming studio releases. There is no confirmation of this plan, as of yet, it is merely speculation.

On the face of it, it actually makes a lot of sense to pair these two together. Interstellar is released around the same time as Big Hero 6 which could've been a more logical partner for Age of Ultron, but Interstellar will attract a far bigger audience of young adults, which is exactly the demographic Age of Ultron aims to please. Again, we must stress this is only speculation and any further news regarding this potential film/trailer pairing, will be updated as soon as we get it.
