Brad Furman's 'The Infiltrator' to be lead by Bryan Cranston

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong Breaking Bad and Emmy award winning actor Bryan Cranston is in hot demand these days. Recently being linked with the Great Wall of China project alongside Matt Damon and now looks to have landed the lead role in Brad Furman's The Infiltrator.

The Infiltrator is about real-life federal agent Robert Mazur’s years undercover. Mazur was a customs and excise agent who assumed an undercover identity as Bob Musella, money launderer to corrupt bankers and mob leaders. He spent five years infiltrating the Medellín cartel. Ultimately, his efforts led to the arrests of more than 40 major criminals.

The screenplay was penned by Ellen Brown Furman, based on Mazur’s own autobiography. Cranston was brought into the project due to his relationship with Furman, and since then the project has moved forward fairly steadily. Shooting on The Infiltrator is scheduled to begin in January 2015, in London, Paris, and Florida. As of yet, no release date has been set.
