CBS Lands 'Training Day' TV Show
After a bidding war, CBS is the official home for the TV series adaptation of Antoine Fuqua‘s film Training Day, which landed Denzel Washington a Best Actor Oscar.
The idea foe the show was Fuqua's, who along with original producer Jerry Bruckheimer, is putting together a package with Warner Bros. TV for a full-length series. However, CBS seems like a bizarre landing spot for the show with the channel not exactly known for their hard-hitting and gritty dramas. Considering the movie is quite a fierce drama, maybe it'll be a watered down version, or CBS are willing to make more tough and tenacious television. Either way, things are still moving slowly for the series, with Deadline reporting it still has a pilot production commitment, which hints that there’s still a way to go before a full series is in the pipeline.
