Crash
A solid and overall good film, but it's hardly a stand-out, high calibre film. It was up against Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain which was that year's most talked about film that lived up to expectations. Brokeback Mountain is a great piece of storytelling and deserved far more praise than the Academy showed it that night.
