Cuba Gooding Jr. will play O.J. Simpson in new TV Mini-Series

Showrunner Ryan Murphy has a new show called American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. Murphy is best know for shows such as Glee, Nip/Tuck and American Horror Story. Not unfamiliar with controversy, Murphy's new show is likely to split opinion as much as have people turn on.

The show is being produced and aired on FX and now casting has now been announced. Cuba Gooding Jr. will play Simpson, alongside Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), who has been cast as lawyer Marcia Clarke.

American Crime Story: The People v O.J. Simpson will be based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson. by Jeffrey Toobin. Award-winning writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski will pen the first two episodes.

The 10-episode first season examines the O.J. Simpson trial as told from the perspective of the lawyers, and is poised to explore the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and manoeuvring on both sides of the court. More significantly, it will display how a combination of prosecution confidence, defence wiliness and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.
