Driving Miss. Daisy
This comes a little out of left field, but Driving Miss. Daisy should never of won the best picture Oscar at the 62nd Academy Awards. In retrospect, the gong should've been awarded to a film that didn't even get nominated.
Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing was the best film that year and is one of the most important films of the 80's. The Academy decided to snub Lee's film, for what I can only imagine was for it's political and social overtones. Driving Miss. Daisy was the more audience friendly of the two.
