Jamie Foxx pitching Mike Tyson film with Martin Scorsese directing
We've known Scorsese's buddy (and Wolf of Wall Street writer) Terence Winter was writing the Mike Tyson biopic for some time, with Jamie Foxx in the lead. And now Jamie Foxx claims Scorsese is actually directing as well.
With the director currently filming Silence and later doing the Sinatra biopic, you have to wonder when and if this will really happen. But Foxx seems to think so. He told New York’s Power 101.5 (in an interview about his new musical endeavors):
"I just went in with Paramount with Mike Tyson. So I’m going to do the Mike Tyson story. [...] Listen man, to be in the same room, pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount. Mike Tyson is on one side, I’m on the other side. And doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm, so. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since Raging Bull."
