Leonardo DiCaprio's Win is Most-Tweeted Oscar Moment in History

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong After four unsuccessful nominations, Leonardo DiCaprio's long awaited win for Best Actor created more than 400,000 tweets per minute on Sunday, making it the most tweeted about moment in Oscar history. Twitter reported.

DiCaprio's win far surpassed the previous record for social engagement during the Academy Awards telecast, which was set by host Ellen Dgeneres' star-filled selfie in 2014.

Twitter reported that the most buzzed about moments from this years Oscars were DiCaprio's win, followed by Spotlight taking home Best Picture and Mad Max: Fury Road winning its six awards.
