'Machete Kills Again... in Space' to Begin Production This Year Says Danny Trejo
The first movie Machete was one of the fake trailers that played before the two grindhouse movies, Planet Terror and Death Proof, created by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Since then, Rodriguez directed a full-length Machete film starring Danny Trejo inspired by the trailer, which lead into a second movie, Machete Kills, which was released two years ago. Before the second movie, another "fake" Machete trailer played before it titled, Machete Kills Again... in Space. It now appears that the movie is in the works.
Trejo had an interview with Halloween Daily News recently, and said this regarding the project, "Robert and I are going to start to do Machete Kill Again.. in Space, so that’s going to be awesome. Absolutely. We’re going to be working on it this year."
No word yet on a release date, or potential casting, but this sounds like it could be one of the most out there, yet funnest movies planned in coming years. You can watch the 'fake' trailer for this movie above.
