Matt Damon and Bryan Cranston may join The Great Wall
For some time, Legendary Pictures have been trying to get their 'Great Wall' project of the ground, and according to reports, they may have found their leading men.
Matt Damon (pictured above) and Bryan Cranston (below) are supposedly in talks to star in the project which will be directed by Zhang Yimou. The epic is expected to “reveal the legend behind a great mystery of our age: why this magnificent structure came to be.” An interesting concept with a huge scope, this movie certainly has the chance to be a potential box office hit in the future.
Originally, Edward Zwick was to direct the film with Superman Henry Cavill ear-marked to star, but those plans never came to fruition. Screenwriter Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton) penned a new script which in turn attracted Yimou to direct and now the project seems to be back in the pre-production groove.

The news of Damon and Cranston being approached was broke by Deadline. It is rumoured that Damon would be the lead character in the film, but that is if he can fit the filming schedule into his upcoming plans. He’s currently scheduled to make The Martian with director Ridley Scott followed, potentially, by the next Bourne movie. As of yet, there is no word on whom Cranston would play or even a possible release date for the movie, either.
