Matt Damon's Supporting Cast Takes Shape with 2 Vital Roles in Fifth 'Bourne' Movie Cast
With the plot firmly under wraps, the cast of the upcoming fifth Bourne movie is beginning to shape with two vital roles cast.
Deadline reports Julia Stiles is set to join up with Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass with the report suggesting she has already closed a deal to reprise her role as Nicky Parsons, a former Treadstone technician who becomes an ally and sorta-kinda love interest to Jason Bourne (Damon). She is the only character besides Bourne to appear in all three of the original Bourne trilogy films.
Meanwhile, The Wrap is reporting that Viggo Mortensen has been offered the role of the villain. Alicia Vikander was additionally rumoured to have been offered a major role a few weeks ago, but no word on how those negotiations have gone.
The new movie will focus once again on the Jason Bourne character after Bourne Legacy, which starred Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross, failed to capture the imagination of audiences. Greengrass will return to the franchise and direct the new movie. It was important for Damon that Greengrass returned as director for this movie to move forward. The new Bourne film is scheduled to open July 29, 2016.
