Matthew McConaughey might not be returning for 'Magic Mike XXL'
Magic Mike was a huge success at the box office and with critics, so it makes sense to make a sequel and cash in on it's popularity. But one of Magic Mike's biggest draws may not be returning.
Matthew McConughey looks like he'll be missing the reunion according to co-star Gabriel Iglesias.
Iglesias said; “Word has it that Matt’s probably not gonna be involved, because he’s worth a lot of money now – that whole Oscar thing – so, but yeah, I’ve signed on for part two.”
When you've just won an Oscar and you're currently in the middle of the most financially sound years of your career to date, it makes sense to decide not to star in a film that will require you to remove your clothes. McConaughey will be top of most producers lists— no doubt receiving offers to star in some pretty big films. He recently flirted with reprising his role on the excellent HBO series, True Detective.
McConaughey has bigger fish to fry these days, so no real surprise that he's decided to turn down this offer.
