Pilot for CBS' 'Supergirl' Leaked Online
High-definition copies of the pilot for Supergirl apparently leaked onto file-sharing pirate sites early Friday.
The episode is available in up to 1080p HD format and does not contain any evident watermarks, according to piracy-tracking firm Excipio. As of 9:30 a.m. ET on Friday, the Supergirl pilot had been downloaded more than 120,000 times worldwide. CBS declined to comment regarding the leaking.
Supergirl is slated for release this coming November and it is incredibly rare for television pilots to leak online this far in advance. In the past, TV networks have released pilots in advance of show debuts as a marketing tool but never this far ahead of release. The show is a highly anticipated series, and judging by how many times it was downloaded during the short period it was online, proves its potential popularity. Whatever spin you wish to put on it, this is still a terrible blow for CBS.
