Star Wars: Episode VII gets an official name

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong The official Twitter account for Star Wars revealed the official title of Star Wars Episode VII.

From now on it will be known as Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This new name doesn't signify the end of this movie being referred to as 'Episode VII' which given the rather drab 'The Force Awakens' title, we expect most people to continue calling it Episode VII or Episode VII: The Force Awakens. This title hardly boasts a powerful punch but it kind of stays in the true spirit of the Star Wars franchise.

The reason behind this unveiling of the title isn't surprising either. Filming wrapped last week and with the title now being revelled, leads us to suggest that maybe a teaser trailer will drop sometime before the end of the year.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, the film stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. It opens 18th December 2015.
