The Robin: The Loveable Little Bird
The Robin— a short animated film created by Tom Sanders and Will Long— is a fable about a red breasted bird who wants nothing more than to relish his seed ball for breakfast. That is, until he is faced with the daunting task of savouring it before two headstrong pigeons grab it first.
A HARMONIOUS, SWEET LITTLE NARRATIVE
Topping out at just over a mere two minutes, The Robin is a harmonious, sweet little narrative. It's style is unembellished and unrestrained— yet it's charm lends it's hand very well to the aesthetic.
From the moment we see the feathered creature yawn and go after his beloved seed ball, to the moment we see him battle off two stubborn pigeons— then reluctantly sharing it with those cute little hatchings— we feel a warm, heartfelt connection. There's a human and sincere quality to this friendly little cartoon.
The directing and animating team of Will Long and Tom Sanders have created a loveable, slick— even a bit clever— fun trifle of a film.
