Fast & Furious 9: Charlize Theron teases Cipher's new lookby GregHarmon
Same baddie, new ‘do.
What does one do after escaping the wrath of Team Toretto and the Brother’s Shaw?
You rebuild your brand! As in - new year, new ‘do, same you.
Charlize Theron unveiled Cipher’s glamorous new look along with a pic confirming her return as Fast and Furious 9 heads into its eleventh week of production.
New hairdo aside, Cipher’s return doesn’t come as a total shocker. This knowing the Fate of the Furious cyberterrorist failed to jumpstart nuclear warfare but managed to slip through the hands of Deckard and Owen Shaw.
Of course, the bigger question is how exactly does Cipher factor into 9’s story? With talk of a female-led spin-off headlined by Charlize, you figure the creative heads will give Cipher the 'Deckard Shaw treatment' (heel-turned-face - aka #justice4Han or shall I say #justice4elena) or perhaps they’ll dial up her villainous ways with a partner or superior. There’s always a hierarchy of evil right?
Theron joins returning cast members Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriquez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Helen Mirren. John Cena leads the pack of new faces along with Michael Rooker, UFC Fighter Francis Ngannou, Finn Cole (Animal Kingdom), Anna Sawai (Ninja Assassin), and Vinnie Bennett (Ghost in the Shell).
I’m looking forward to that Vin Diesel vs. Francis Ngannou showdown.
