Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

6.1 based on 16 ratings

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

DCEU v MCU: Opinion Piece

DCEU v MCU: Opinion Piece

Without a doubt, the biggest cinematic battle in recent memory. Marvel has produced a smorgasbord of movies and generated eye-watering numbers at the box office, however, I really really do not like the MCU anymore; at all. DCEU (DC Extended Universe) is where I stand. This is my opinion on these two powerhouses of modern cinema, a comparison of the them and why I am now a fully-fledged DCEU fanatic.

Ben to Arkham?

Ben to Arkham?

With the announcement of Ben helming the directing and writing duties in the next solo Batman movies. The question remands on what is the story line? Ben has made it clear, that his movie will be an original story that will borrow elements from past Batman stories. The rumor is that in this movie, Batman will find himself locked inside Arkham Asylum along with the rest of the crazy inmates. Pulling off this story would be something truly entertaining and a darker take on the Bat franchise. But at this point I feel like this is something we need to see. Other than the Jason Todd Red Hood story line, I different horror type take on this iconic asylum could be something that would take Batman out of his element to tackle the morbid members of Gotham. With Geoff Johns also helping out with the screenplay, This movie has bright light at the end of the tunnel. Or if the rumors are true...are dark pit at the end of the tunnel.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Ultimate Edition - Movie Analysis

There’s no denying that this “Ultimate Cut” edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was more highly anticipated than the actual theatrical release back in March. For all the negative feedback this movie got, a good majority of people were still interested in a three hour edition of it. For me, I've been looking forward to this Ultimate Cut because I wanted to see director, Zack Snyder’s true version of this film in its entirety. Oh, and I got it.

15. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

15. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

For Zack Snyder, this may just be his magnum opus, his greatest achievement so far. Bouncing back from shaky beginnings for DC's new world, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ achieves everything it set out to do, but ties the superhero genre firmer than ever to greek mythology, religion, concepts of higher beings that have always simmered below the entire make-up of what a superhero encompasses. The future is bright for the DC universe, even in this dim, cloudy world that these iconic heroes populate.

DC V Marvel: Dawn Of Judgment

I’m not a comic book guy but I do enjoy the current crop of films that are being produced. Yes, I’m that guy; the one that purists detest. It’s a self-enforced limitation. Outside of their film counterparts I will never grasp these characters with the same comprehension. I’m naïve to the broad scope of criticism that can be leveled at Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. All I can do is arbitrate from the isolated perspective of a film reviewer. I realise that restriction, and so I choose to play to my strengths.

Round Table

Round Table

Film critics and comic book fans all have voiced their concern with DC's Batman V Superman. Here are a list of what some people are saying about the movie that deals with Man Versus God:@Nathan_Best describes the film as: They are intentionally looking for something to be wrong with every film. That coupled with the Hollywood hate for Zack Snyder was a bad combination. Was the movie perfect? No. Did the first half of the film edited poorly and felt rushed? Absolutely. Did it ruin the ENTIRE film for me? No. As a comic fan of 40 years, I really liked it. The second half of the film was mind-blowing. Being familiar with the comics and the stories they loosely based the film on probably helped being able to follow the story better than your average movie goer, but 12 of the 13 people I saw the film with (over three different viewings) all liked the film. There was only one person that was disappointed in the film, so I REALLY don’t get the poor reviews.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - Addressing The Backlash.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - Addressing The Backlash.

Fans V Critics — It's been less than a week since the release of Batman V Superman (I'm still forgoing the full title for convenience) and the furore from fans at the negative critical reception it's had has been vociferous and that's putting it mildly. It's smashed opening weekend records but that isn't really surprising. I myself read the very same negative first reviews and it didn't stop me from seeing it. An event film like this will have a successful opening no matter what. Whether it can sustain this momentum remains to be seen. It's already had the largest opening Friday to Sunday drop-off on record for such a film so early signs are that this may not be the huge commercial success that recent tentpole films such as The Force Awakens and even smaller budget comic book adaptations such as Deadpool have been.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

As I walked into the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice screening, I was full aware of the 30-something percent score on the Rotten Tomatoes. Some part of me went in looking for points to bolster arguments in defence of this film. The other part wasn’t too surprised because a certain Zach Snyder was helming this film and Snyder in the end, did what the label on his right foot says – great visuals and ideas but flawed storytelling (refer to reviews of Watchmen).

Fighting itself

Batman V Superman is not a good movie. Is it Green Lantern bad? No, because to Snyder's and his teams credit, they have some business making a superhero movie. But not being as bad one of arguably the worst major motion pictures in 20 years isn't a hard hurdle. No, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (inappropriate title for most of the movie) is bad because it's Snyder, Goyer, Terrio, DC and WB at their worst as artists and a business. BvS is a HOT mess stemming from trying to play catch up to Marvel, while also trying to be some supposed opposite it, which is apparently the opposite of good.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN

Before watching this film, the plethora of negative reviews were really beginning to annoy me. Having now seen it, they seem a little more justified but still wholly unnecessary. Superhero movies are certainly not intent on pleasing critics. They are huge studio films created for fans of the franchise. Although it wasn't perfect, there were some epic moments that are being left in the shadow of the not so great ones.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2016) - Review

The DC Cinematic Universe Collapses Under Its Own Weight. — **SPOILER ALERT!!** In the few days since the review embargo was lifted on Zack Snyder's long awaited Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (which I'll refer to as BVS from here on in), critics on the whole have given it something of a mauling whilst fans have attacked those same long established critics, both in the general press and those who are solely independent, for simply voicing their opinion. The film's own star, Henry Cavill, has gone on record in something of a veiled attack on those critics to say the following;"The interesting thing is that we get the critics who have their personal opinions. And the thing about personal opinions is that they always come from a place. And there's a preconceived idea which you have to get past a critic before you start writing your article or your review, and that affects everything."

Batman V Superman

With the debut of Ben Afflack as Batman, we finally get our long awaited battle between God and Man. Batman V Superman's three acts tries to balance the story of a city fearing a God and a man who believes that that God is responsible for death and destruction. The movie had some plot errors and some inconsistencies with its characters. But this movie did not disappoint in staying true to its roots. And I dare say that Mr. Afflack was amazing as Batman/Bruce Wayne. 9/10

REVIEW Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Spoiler free review — Fearing the actions of Superman are being left unchecked, The Dark Knight takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs. With a new threat arising, it's up to Superman and Batman to set aside their differences and stop the destruction of the world, their home. With a new cast of heroes and villains joining the universe that was setup brilliantly in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman cranks it up to 11, and as enjoyable as it may be, if falters along the way.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Preview

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a breath over 2 weeks away, which is startlingly close given that the hype has been building for so long on this film. Announced way back in June 2013, the Man of Steel sequel quickly turned into Batman and Superman's first ever cinematic union. And early on, the film was said to be based on Frank Miller's groundbreaking graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns.

We get our first glimpse at the Dark Knight and his new tricked out ride. In this short clip, it looks like Bruce is racing to the scene of...a well..I guess fight with Superman? Looks like Pimp my ride and Xzbit helped Bruce design a ride that is battle ready and date worthy. The Batmobile looks very sleek in it's design. It looks like this car is built for speed and can handle any situation that presents it's self. To me it looks very similar to that of Nolen's Tumbler in his Bale universe. Let's find out what is driving Bruce at these speeds when Batman V Superman hits theaters March 25th 2016.

Trailer Review: Batman vs Superman

WOW! Two weeks, two trailers. This is amazing right? Wellllll........ — The first scene of this trailer is amazing. The verbal battle shown between Clark and Bruce is great and fun to watch. You get the impression they both know who each other actually are but they aren’t going to show that in public. Bruce’s line where he said “I’ve got bad experience with freaks dressed like clowns” is amazing. But I think that is the only good thing in this trailer. The rest, in my opinion, is rubbish.

Remember back in 2013 when Man of Steel featured the over-the-top destruction of Metropolis, and the particularly frustrating way in which Superman finished off General Zod in the film's climax? Well, Zack Snyder is still as eager at defending the movie's ending, and says it is in-keeping with the message of their entire cinematic universe.

Rumoured Warner Bros. schedule through to 2018 includes Shazam, Wonder Woman and Justice League

After last year’s epic Batman v Superman announcement, everyone expects Warner Bros. to give fans tons of big news at Comic-Con this year. — We’d already heard pretty definitively that the next big film, Justice League directed by Zack Snyder, would be released in 2017. Given the casting of characters such as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. and DC Comics seem to be readying other major superheroes for spin offs. Now, a rumoured schedule has been released that shows the potential Warner Bros. and DC Comics schedule through to 2018.
